Anzac Day Ambrose - Sponsored by Asahi

Topic: General
A full field of 144 players enjoyed the annual Anzac Day Ambrose sponsored by Asahi for the second year.  We took the opportunity to thank Asahi for the 3 new large umbrellas on our recently opened top deck.  The scoring was incredible with a number of teams posting net scores under 60!

Teams of 4 had their handicaps divided by 8 to 2 decimal points.  Each player was required to have 4 counting tee shots, including 1 on a par 3, 1 on a par 4 and 1 on a par 5.  No player was allowed to have more than 5 counting tee shots.

The winners were - Matthew Cormack, James Kim, Adam and Len Baker with 51.75 net.  They were 4 shots clear of the runners up - Ian Braddock, Peter Lake, Mike Hyams and John Sims (55).  The other prize winners in order were:
3rd - Spencer Cooper, Tomas Shaw, Tony Ira and Thai Leng - 55.87
4th - John Reeves, Roger Hill, Bruce Eliott and George Green - 56
5th - Gillies & David Pakieto, Kevin Fairbrother & Andrew Lemalu - 57.5
6th - Richard Osborne, David Cranna, Don McPhail & Terry MacDonald - 57.5
7th - Greg Kenward, Chris Reid, Derek Finnigan & David Price - 57.5
8th - Geoff Hamilton, Michael Collins, Barry Hall & Ross Valentine - 57.62
9th - Colin McGowan, Erik Jorgensen, Dan Kearney & Mark Carroll - 57.62
10th - Helen De Serville, Karen Plowman, Maurice MacLaren & Tom Street - 57.75

Congratulations to all the winners.  A full field plus a lengthy wait-list suggests that entering as soon as the sheet is opened is a very wise decision.
