Junior Challenge Cup and Remuera Junior Classic

Topic: Juniors
In the Meadowbank Barfoot & Thompson Challenge Cup Finlay McKechnie successfully defended his trophy against Rebekah Blackwell-Chin on Saturday morning.  Finlay was comfortably in control of the match and will be looking to keep his run going this weekend.

Sunday was the Remuera Junior Classic with nearly 90 players in the field, many of them elite juniors from around Auckland.  Jang Hyun Lee from Titirangi brought the Bledisloe Cup with him - the trophy for the best amateur at the NZ Open in Queenstown just a few weeks ago.  He showed his class shooting 65 (36 pts - blue tees) but it wasn't enough to win the day.  Jay Michael Lindsay (Pakuranga) won with 40pts from Cameron Harlock (39) and Jang Hyun Lee & Jaime Lansi (36pts) in the Open Boys (<10 handicap).

The Open Girls event was won by Keara Harrison from Titirangi (32pts) from Katherine Cao (Windross Farm) 31pts, and 3 on 30pts - Eunseo Choi (Takapuna), Sarah Murchison and Grace Jung (both from Remuera).  The Girls event was from the white tees.

The Handicap section was won by Yoyo Qin from Maungakiekie, with Jackie Jang from Remuera (2nd), Hannah Murchison (4th) and Lachlan Fletcher (5th).

We greatly appreciate the support from Covisory Partners (Nigel Smith) and Ken and Cherie Harlock (MacDonalds in Orewa, Warkworth & Wellsford) in making this event possible.
