On Wednesday the qualifying round for the Vets Cup was held, with the top 16 net scores going into match play starting this Wednesday.  Peter Turner topped the qualifying with a net 68, from Chris Thompson (70) and Steve Dick (71).  The matches for this Wednesday are:

Peter Turner vs Steve Hoskins; Ivan Letica vs Murray Hieatt; Keith Aitchison vs Robin Bone; Lloyd Hill vs Geoff Hamilton; Steve Dick vs Brian Read; Alan McDougall vs Keith McCracken; James Peoples vs John Johnson & Derek Adam vs Chris Thompson.

 

On Saturday the first round of the Waiatarua Trophy was held - a combined stableford drawn pairs event.  The final round is this coming Saturday with the lead shared by 2 pairs - Michael Wright/Wayne Hirt & Len Baker/Peter Lake on 76pts.  Two other pairs are just 2pts behind - Clive Walker/Mark Morphy & Steve Brewster/John Johnson.
