NINE HOLE LADIES WEEKLY WRAP FOR TUESDAY 22nd OCTOBER

Club championships results

What a great competition last week. We had a good number of women participating and though the weather wasn’t helpful, I think most of us enjoyed the challenge.

The results are on notice board for you to peruse. Congratulations to the top three in both the gross and net results.

1st – Jenny Griffiths 1st – Amanda Wilkinson

2nd – Anna Masefield 2nd – Jane Beveridge

3rd – Tessa Bennett 3rd – Margot McLoughlin

This is open to nine holes, flexi and 18-hole women members who are over 70. Format is hidden pairs stableford, with all entered playing the back 9.

There will be a scramble also for everyone else. Complimentary muffins will make your coffee even more enjoyable.

Waiuku Friday 8th November is a shotgun start at 9.30 with lunch afterwards - $27. If you are interested, please sign the sheet on the noticeboard and give your payment to Jo Hollies. Other dates are Pukekohe 21st Nov, Onewhero 29th Nov & Titirangi 5th December.

Putting Competition

At this stage only 9 women have played two rounds, though plenty have played one, and there are some low scores, so good luck for your second rounds. The next one is scheduled for the 4th November, with the fourth on the 6th November.

Bridge Sponsors Day 25th November to note in your diary’s. More details to follow closer to the time.

Survey time

As the year is rapidly disappearing it is a good time to reassess what has been successful over the past 12 months. You should all have received a survey in your inbox. Please complete and push send so that decisions can be made for next year. All responses will be anonymous so please be constructively honest.

Volunteers for 2020.

The 9HW have become a very popular group and our membership has increased markedly in the last 18 months. Because of this we are wanting to increase the size of our committee from 4. Currently 2 manage the year, with 2 shadowing and helping. Ideally, we would like to share the load and provide ways that people can contribute without being inundated. So, if you would like to join this vibrant team please come and talk with Jo Hollies, Jane Beveridge or Sue Olliff.

Pressure on Tee Times

As the weather warms up more people are wanting to come out and play which is adding pressure on our limited tee times particularly on Monday and Wednesday mornings. We understand that part of the enjoyment (some days the only enjoyment) of golf is the social aspect and that is what makes 9 holes special. However, there are other times that we can play, including early afternoon on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at various times on Friday. So, gather a group together and try a different time occasionally. The course is definitely drier later in the day which is a bonus.

Happy golfing everyone and check out the latest summer apparel in the pro shop.
