The Closing Day Foursomes was held on Sunday morning in beautiful weather (although a little windy).  As is often the case foursomes is a tough format - both players have to play pretty well, so good scoring was difficult.  48 teams contested the day - 3 women's teams, 10 men's team & 37 mixed teams.

 

The Women's competition was won by Jeanette Beckett & Shirley Ip with 32 pts, while the Men's competition was won Steven Wong & Leslie Chan (34pts), just ahead of Kevin Grogan & Richard Lin (33pts). 

 

The Mixed event was incredibly close with Carol Smith & Dennis Swan on 38pts, just ahead of 5 other teams on 37pts.  The runners-up in count-back order were:

Jim Holmes & Cynthia Carnachan; Sandra Condon & Graham Arnold; Yun In Park & John Yun; Cilla & CK Tsui - with Geoff & Helen Whitcher just missing out on a prize.

 

Keep the date clear for Opening Day - Sunday February 2nd.  We'll be looking to do something different - a teams event for our Opening Day.
